Hat tip to Rob Tornoe and Mark Eichmann for making us aware of this GIF-tastic treat — the Dole-Kemp ‘96 presidential campaign website!
It’s the first time presidential campaigns even had websites.
The site is archived for educational purposes by 4President.org, a compendium of campaign materials from bumper stickers and pamphlets to buttons and TV ads. It’s a study in self-inflation, rousing success and bitter failure.
Not sure if they’re going to include all the super-PAC-funded ads when they archive the 2012 campaign. They may need a server upgrade to store all the negativity.
